941 Words - 4 Pages.... Health. Because of
this report, the American Psychological Association passed a resolution
that informed broadcasters and the public of the dangers that viewing
violence on television can have for children (Berry 78).
Children and teenagers that watch a lot of television are less
aroused by acts of violence than those children that don’t watch as much
television. In other words, those children are less bothered by violence
in general, and are less likely to see anything wrong with it. In a study

violent program instead of a nonviolent one were slower to see help when

Violence In The Media
440 Words - 2 Pages.... I can't think of a good reason. But,
hey, at least the government sucks at censoring stuff. I'm 13 and I've seen
Playboys. I've seen at least a gajillion R rated movies, and I can walk into any
store in Connecticut and buy some M rated video games. You know why? No one
cares anymore. They're as desensitized as we are, and that's a good thing. It is
a sad fact that we find violence so entertaining, but hell, it is. I freaking
love to see movies where there are more scenes of mindless violence than there
are actual scenes of acting. These movies are aimed at the lowest common
denominator because intelligent movie goers are as extinct as the Dodo bird.
Movies like Showgirls make ....

Gangs
1591 Words - 6 Pages.... five Caucasians, the rest
of us are either black, latino, or dark like me. However, we do not have
any asians in our gang. And no, we are not racist towards hispanics.
There's a gang that is called The Satanic Cult, which is into some
pretty weird rituals. They consisted of animal and human sacrifices and
people with brown hair were forbidden and non-caucasians.
There are many different gangs. Now there's one I am familiar
with, the Necronomicon, who jumped me and my homeboy (who's Latino) just
because we weren't white.
Another one would belong to the punks. Which I do not have a
problem with. The only two punk gangs I know of, do not call them ....

Human Aggression
759 Words - 3 Pages.... be learned from other human beings. Aggression must be learned; it is not simply there from birth. Rather than being an uncontrollable instinct, a person’s behavior is something that is taught to him. For example, a newborn baby is breathing because it is an involuntary reflex. On the other hand, a father may tell his young son to beat up the school bully who is picking on him. As a result, the boy is taught to deal with the situation by using violence.
In order for an individual to display aggression, it must be driven by an instinct interacting with that person's surroundings. McDougall defines the word instinct as “an inherited or innate psycho-physical dispos ....
