Personal Writing: I Love Horror Novels
808 Words - 3 Pages.... I should) because it's mine. I know this sounds
selfish, but I'm being honest. A part of my personality goes into my work
and I feel if people read enough of my work, they will discover certain
personal feelings I would prefer to keep private.
-- Honesty Check...I also think my work sucks. --
As to where I get my ideas from for my sick excursions, I sincerely do
not know. Like Stephen King (who got the idea to write IT when looking off
of a bridge) I seem to receive my mad phantasms out of thin air. For
example, when I first began writing the first draft of this essay, I
started out writing about writing horror stories and ended up writing a
short story about ....

Character Study: Local Residents
672 Words - 3 Pages.... houses hug the road and at night trucks speed through the village because the traffic is light. My fear is that one of these trucks could veer off the road into our homes. During the day when traffic is stationary drivers stare into the house through the window. Quite a lot of the time the front room can be in darkness because the trucks are so large that when in standing traffic they block most of the light to the house.
There is nowhere for my husband to park his car. It is difficult to park outside the house because the road is quite narrow and the traffic needs to be able to flow freely. It would be dangerous, not only getting in and out of the car, but also leaving t ....

While in the river, which I call life, I have to be in control at all
times; I must quickly steer and paddle away from the massive rocks and
devouring waves. When travelling along a rough river, it is essential that

Personal Writing: My Favorite Vacation
546 Words - 2 Pages.... lots and lots of gift shops
too. On these different islands we did something different. On St. Thomas
we rode bikes up into the mountain and saw all different kinds of birds,
plants and lizards. That was fun for awhile till it got tough and then we
started to head back.
On the other island Barbados they had the best beaches you could imagine.
The water was so clear and the sand was so white and soft it felt like a
pillow. We went swimming over there for about 2 hours. While we were there
you could see the bottom at least 30 feet deep. There were no rocks to cut
you at all it was just like the sand on the beach. It was lots of fun.
When we got tired we went back to the s ....

Shattered Perfection
469 Words - 2 Pages.... these things are examples of good parenting, but there is a fine line between teaching and guiding a child to do the right things, and forcing them to do the right things. Some of the things they did I’m still a bit grateful for, and I understand their reasoning, things like enrolling me in activities. I found out what I liked and was good at a young age, which was good, but the bad side was that I was never able to change once I started, and being so young and fickle, that discouraged me from liking things that I could have later on.
The pressure to be perfect in every way has always had an enormous impact on me. It has resulted in pressure I put on myself to be perf ....

different faces, different looks, and a different feel. I can truthfully
say that the first day of school was one of the worst days of my life. I
had never been so far away from my friends. That year, nevertheless, still
saw me pass with a 3.5 grade point average. Still, something was missing.

crawled down my neck like a spider. I looked at my door and that is when I
