Most adults would be too traumatized by the experience in the forest even to be lucid, let alone come to the deep philosophical epiphany that she reached about Boo. Instead of a character revelation from Scout, it comes across more as a direct message from the author, as if she had temporarily possessed Scout’s mind. As good as the novel is, this uneven characterization happens throughout. Scout repeatedly discovers ideas that are more suited to someone much older. She would act like a normal child, break off into a philosophical reverie, then revert to her ch ....

.... reality. Blanche comes to Stella in an unbalanced state of mind in need of her sister's aid. The impression is given that this isn't the first time Stella has been there to help Blanche through a time of trouble. As much as she needs her help and as much as she respects her, Blanche strongly disapproves of her sister's new life. Stella tolerates Blanche's continual criticism of her husband, home and friends very well. From this and many other incidents throughout the play we see what a tolerant and adaptable person Stella is. Stan and Stella's relationship is far from ideal. Stan is a violent man. On occasions he hits Stella, but comes after her to satisfy his sexual needs. ....

.... The short excerpt of Morte d' Arthur tells of how King Arthur abandons his assault on Lancelot to defend Camelot and all of England from Mordred. Because Camelot seems to immediately precede Morte d' Arthur and there is no overlap in the story, the way the plot is handled in each work cannot be debated. I will however, discuss the mood, tone, and characterization of a few key figures in the two works. One difference in character that I found was that in the introduction to Morte d' Arthur, Mordred is referred to as King Arthurs nephew. Later in the text, when Arthur and Mordred are fighting (p. 96, para.1) it says, ". . . so he smote his father King Arthur with his sword h ....

.... The Volink family were excited and amazed that they inherited a castle. But what the Volink’s did not know was that a spirit called a Boggart lived there. The Boggart is a sprit that is neither good or bad. He mainly plays practical jokes on people. It is like a little child that can be friendly towards mortals. Boggarts cannot be seen or heard.. The Volink family sold the castle right away because it would be to expensive to keep. Emily and Jessup kept two pieces of furniture to bring home. What they didn’t realize was that a Boggart was sleeping in the desk they took home. When the Boggart got up he realized he was no longer home in Scotland in his castle ....

The men now see problems from this perspective and good boots, like Kemmerich’s, are hard to find. There was a time though when they had different beliefs. According to The Fountainhead our entire society is based upon the unchanging principles made up and maintained solely by powerful, influential old men (Elsworth Toohey). Furthermore, Miss Rand dictates that true happiness can only be found by defying these principles. I would have to say that although Miss Rand's Objetivism works well with in the realm of the book, I fail to see it in the "real world."
