Hamlet: Revenge
654 Words - 3 Pages.... remarried so quickly to the brother
of the dead King. The brother would be the one who would betray Hamlet.
Horatio, a loyal friend to Hamlet, was on night watch outside the castle,
he told the prince of an incident when they saw an apparition who resembled
King Hamlet. Hamlet came out the next night hoping to see the ghost. Sure
enough, the ghost appeared and called to Hamlet, wanting to speak with him. The
spirit talked about how Claudius poisoned the King while he was sleeping, "Tis
given out that, sleeping in my orchard,/ a serpent stung me² (1.5, 36) but it
was not a snake that the ghost is referring to. The spirit wanted the prince to
avenge his murder. ....

Consumer Appeal
892 Words - 4 Pages.... story line is of a young,
beautiful white female trying to capture a serial killer/stalker, who killed her
husband and continues to stalk her. The show is very detail oriented, in the
sense that the viewers need to pay close attention to what is going on to be
able to follow along with the mystery. It tends to "suck you in", so to say,
because it causes the viewers to become involved and engrossed in solving the
mystery.
The assumed target of this series is mainly adults over the age of
twenty-five, with the exceptions of those viewers that do not watch it at the
time it actually airs, but they tape it to watch later. Because of the time it
airs, the viewers are very sel ....

The Minor Characters In Romeo And Juliet Have A Great Deal Of Influence Of The Destinies Of The Major Characters
496 Words - 2 Pages.... Out of blind rage, Romeo
kills Tybalt. "And in my tmeper soften'd valours see!" Had Romeo not
decided to exact revenge on Tybalt, perhaps the Capulets might have
accepted him as a son. This would mean that Romeo and Juliet would not have
had to hide their love for each other. Tybalt, indeed, had a large effect
on the lives of Romeo and Juliet, by killing Mercutio.
Another minor character thought to have shaped the destinies of Romeo and
Juliet is Paris. In Act 3, Scene 5, Lady Capulet announces that Juliet is
to marry Paris. "The County Paris, at Saint Peter's church, Shall happily
make thee there a joyful bride." Juliet obviously refuses and goes to Friar
Laurence for help ....

"In Cold Blood" Review
673 Words - 3 Pages.... deserted him,
and at one point, had a gun pointed to his head. Also there appears to be
tension between Smith and Hickock. They think differently at times, especially
when it comes to the discussion of the crime. You can't help but feel
sympathetic towards Smith, as it appears that he is forced into this by Hickock.
All characters in the movie were played well by the actors in my opinion. They
all seemed real and seemed to fit in with the setting and the time period.
I think that Hickock and Smith are not victims of forces beyond their
control, they are victims of, at least in Smith's case, a bad upbringing. The
two murderers have no direction in their lives. The ....

Iowa - An American Portrait
457 Words - 2 Pages.... could make a good living on eighty acres. Work was a necessity to Iowans. It gave meaning and pride to life, and farming was a business that could be passed on from generation to generation.
Corn soon became the crop of choice to Iowa farmers. They found that it was more resistant to disease than the other crops they were growing, such as barley, oats, wheat, and apples. With this newfound “wonder crop”, Iowans found that farming had become the ideal way of life. Working on the farm involved all of the members of the family, which brought them together and made them stronger through hardships and great opportunities.
Draft horses used for plowing later became a l ....

Macbeth: Letter From Lady Macbeth To Macbeth
625 Words - 3 Pages.... hesitant on acting, but
I just had to have my ambition fulfilled. So I pushed you and now I realise that
my persistence was not in our best interests, and I'm sorry for it. Perhaps if I
had left the decision to your judgement we would have been better off.
What I did I only did for you. For you to be king, how could I for see
that we would be worse off. Just the idea that you would be king "would cheer me
ever", but I knew I had to push you to fulfill your potential.
But doubt crept into my mind on the fateful night of Duncans murder. I
would have done it myself if he had not looked like my father. He was resting so
peacefully in the innocence of sleep, I just couldn't ....

Macbeth: Macbeth Is More Guilty By His Actions Than Lady Macbeth Is By Hers
778 Words - 3 Pages.... cases. Based on these facts, Macbeth
would be found more guilty than Lady Macbeth.
The very first murder in this story was committed on Duncan. This crime was
planned by both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. The actual murder was done by Macbeth,
making him more guilty of the crime. Lady Macbeth just talked about committing
the crime, but she never actually went through with it nor would she ever, and
that is all that counts. Talking about committing the incident is very
different from actually doing it. Lady Macbeth did a little more than just talk
about it though. She also urged Macbeth into doing it and that is what makes her
part of this crime, but she is not as guilty ....

As You Like It: Grow Up, Oliver!
744 Words - 3 Pages.... of the play. When Orlando agrees to wrestle Charles, Oliver
concludes that this will be the ideal time to get back at his younger
brother for being who he is. When he tries to have Charles kill him,
this shows that Oliver is too much of a coward to do it himself. Another
thought that comes to mind is that it is possible that Oliver knows that
having his brother killled is unethical and wrong. Deep down I think that
Oliver has a decent heart and is aware that he should not let his envy get
the best of him. The reader may wonder why Oliver would be jealous of
Orlando. Orlando is popular and strong, and smart. Oliver is unhappy and
therefore cruel. In a monologue th ....
