Cause Of Hamlet's Distractions: Feelings And Passions
998 Words - 4 Pages.... actions. It is apparent that Hamlet
loves Ophelia in his own special manner when he says: “To the celestial,
and my soul's idol, the most beautified/ Ophelia--/”(II, ii, 116-117)
Although he may love her with all his might, as he tells Laeretes,:
I loved Ophelia. Forty thousand brothers
Could not with all their quantity of love
Make up my sum. (V,i, 264-266)
Hamlet is too immature to love her enough to trust her in their
relationship. This trust that he is lacking will give him the ability to
hand Ophelia the key to his madness however, due to immaturity he is unable
to hand her the key. Because of Hamlet's immaturity this same madness
enables him to act ext ....

Springer Vs. Winfrey: The Battle Of The Talk Show Giants
704 Words - 3 Pages.... show, he finds women who cheated on their boyfriends and are going to confess. But the boyfriends are in for yet another surprise. It turns out some of the women have been seeing other women instead of other men. Another episode dealt with a man who cut off his genitals because he claimed his homosexual neighbor was stalking him. Shocking, but the list of dangerous love triangles, broken homes, devil worshipers and the popular talk topic of the Klu Klux clan goes on. The Springer show is a display and misuse of societies’ moral tragedies. Yet people love to be voyeurs to the moral dilemmas of others.
Oprah Winfrey was once a follower of the same trash TV ....

Julius Caesar: Brutus Is A Honorable Man
410 Words - 2 Pages.... is an honorable man.
Brutus is a scrupulous man, whose virtues endure. "No not an oath, If
not by the face of men, the sufferance of our souls, the time's abuse-If
these motives be weak, break off betimes, and every men hence to his idle
bed; So let high sighted tyranny rage on, till each man drop by lottery"
(Shakespeare 399). Brutus said that if the conspirators do not join for a
common cause, then there is no need for an oath because the conspirators
are self-righteous, and they are serving the romans. If the conspirators
don't bind together, then each man will go his own way, become a weakling,
and die when it suits the tyrants caprice. Brutus is advocates peace, ....

An Analysis Of A Doll's House
897 Words - 4 Pages.... character of Nora and stop getting upset with her is
when she finally sees that her life and marriage really are just a good faç
ade. When Nora learns this, she tells her husband, "You've never loved me,
you've only found it pleasant to be in love with me." I a lso think that
Nora perfectly describes what her marriage actually is toward the end of
the play, when she tells Torvald, "…our home has been nothing but a play-
room. I've been your doll-wife here, just as at home I was Papa's doll-
child. And the children have been my dolls in their turn. I liked it when
you came and played with me, just as they liked it when I came and played
with them. That's what our mar ....

Religion Is The Opiate Of The Masses
259 Words - 1 Pages.... in a daze is television. Television is rarely used for any good today,
for example, do you really think that full house is an intellectual stimulus?
hell no. TV is designed to be brain candy for the weak-minded and ignorant.
The internet is more useful and I might add, stimulating. This is a medium in
which you can interact and communicate with others instead of sitting on your
ass drooling watching itchy and scratchy. There are honestly interesting sites
available on this medium.
I have heard people call television the "one-eyed monster", this simply
suggests to me that this person is obviously poor-bred or simply ignorant.
Television can be used to convey ....

A Clockwork Orange
1717 Words - 7 Pages.... in terms of rehabilitating an offender, which is up to the individual. That one should determine the cause and then find an exclusive treatment to resolve that individual's case, then apply it. This is the case with the character Alex, a juvenile delinquent introduced into prisonization then conditioned by governmental moral standards. This lack of personal moral choice imposed upon Alex creates conflicting situations in which he has no control over. This is apparent when trying to readjust into society. As conflicts arise within the spectrum of criminal justice the main focus is revolved around the corrections aspect of reforming the criminal element.

Shakespeare's The Comedy Of Errors
382 Words - 2 Pages.... the confusion that identical twins caused even to
their close family members. The fact that Shakespeare was able to make the
dialogue fit in with the scenarios made the action even more comic. The idea of
the plot, although not completely original is still unique and is still used in
modern work, such as the TV sitcoms like "Sister, Sister." Something that
surprised me in the play was Adriana's character. She was insecure and
portrayed the typical damsel in distress. She was completely dependent on her
husband and this fact alone made the play somewhat out of date. Shakespeare is
said to be "not of an age, but for all times," but Adriana's character, in my
opinio ....

Compare And Contrast The Language Of Romeo And Juliet In The Balcony Scene
1757 Words - 7 Pages.... money grabbing.
This is reflected in the kind of language and imagery that the lovers use.
In this scene we notice that the way Romeo expresses his love is
different from the way Juliet expresses her love. Romeo speaks in high-
flown language to express his love but compared to his, Juliet's language
it is more sincere and filled with sweet seriousness.
Romeo expresses his love for Juliet right at the beginning of the
scene through the use of light imagery. He declares:
"It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. Arise, fair sun, and kill the
envious moon … Her vestal livery is but sick and green"
Romeo connects the pale moonlight with sickness and grief an ....
