recognised by other students as being ‘big' and win respect from them. The two
friends were the same age, and strength and didn't want to look bad in front of
the other students, so the two friends said a comment back to each other in
defence. It started of as a small game, but by the end of the class, it was
getting serious. This continued for about 3 weeks, then one day they were in the

the other; "lets take this out side". Everyone around them urged them to fight

blacks. The Ku Klux Klan, otherwise known as the KKK, possess intense
hatred for the black race. Their hatred is demonstrated by marching in
white cloaks in protest and also by burning the churches and neighborhoods
of blacks. Just as Hitler and the KKK express hatred, the Skinheads are
yet another group which have strong prejudices. These so called Skinheads

Why Are The Homeless Homeless?
932 Words - 4 Pages.... to this widespread laziness.
First of all, most homeless people spend their days hunting through
trash cans and dumpsters for a piece of sustenance or at least something of
value. If they're not doing that, they're begging for spare change on
street corners. Eventually, one would think that they should be able to
afford a couple of respectable suits or other outfits to wear while
applying and even working for this job of theirs. All they have to do is
poke around a little longer or beg a little more, and that job would be
theirs to enjoy. Keeping these articles of clothing clean would be
difficult, but manageable. If you can't afford a coin operated laundromat ....

What Is Wealth
827 Words - 4 Pages.... Thoreau:
"Books are the treasured wealth of the world and the fit inheritance
of generations and nations... Their authors are a natural and
irresistible aristocracy in every society, and, more than kings or
emperors, exert an influence on mankind."
I believe that if one chooses to enrich their mind and strive for
knowledge that they are truly wealthy. Wealth is the ability to enrich and
influence. With knowledge one can do these things. Wealth is not taking
things for granted. In many ways knowledge can help you achieve success. With
knowledge one can look into the past and see the mistakes that others have made.

806 Words - 3 Pages.... who should
intervene. When I look at what the government has done with regard to the
homeless problem, I have to doubt that everything is being done to
eradicate it. The United Nations implemented a universal declaration of
human rights. Article 25 Section 1 of this declaration states:
Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the
health and well being of himself and of his family, including food,
clothing, housing, and medical care and necessary social services, and to
the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability,
widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his

As the vocabulary shrinks so does the intelligence. I agree with the article, the vocabulary is being abused and is being used badly.
I can relate to a situation that was explained in the article, the number of hours I spend watching television. I enjoy watching television; it’s an entertainment for me when I’m bored. Galbraith believes that poverty stricken individuals are degraded because they live outside the grades, which the community regards as acceptable.
An example of this can be found in Great Falls, MT at the government-housing complex. I have heard the residents labeled as poverty stricken poor, lazy, shady characters and bums among other things. As long as an individual resides in the “project: they will continue to be labeled by most citizens, others may resent them for costing tax payers money to house and feed them.
