Aaron Burr And Alexander Hamilton's Duel
585 Words - 3 Pages.... this was hardly a libel statement.
Aaron Burr was incensed at this comment, which was published in an Albany newspaper. He believed that Hamilton’s comments in his character were what cost him the governor-ship for New York.
Hamilton was coerced into a duel. The duel was undeniably Burr’s fault. On June 18, 1804 Burr penned an epistle to Hamilton that enclosed a challenge to battle a duel. He included with the dispatch, a replica of the article enclosing the annotations. Burr demanded “a prompt and unqualified acknowledgment or denial” of the “despicable opinion” credited to Hamilton. Music And Censorship
1797 Words - 7 Pages.... as gods, which no one can touch.
For example, think of it like a secret dictatorship, and we breathe as a fascist society, which puts fun and feelings above the Lord, above all. Many of the musicians consist of non-religious people who live only for fun and only for themselves. Why then would we, especially as Christians, put our total devotion in them? It exists like wanting
to ride with a blind driver rather than one with perfect vision. In addition many of the musicians use drugs and stimulants to satisfy their hunger for themselves and for pure fun. The musicians tend to use drugs massively, to get out of the very real world that they consist so much a part of. Popularity ....

Decameron
305 Words - 2 Pages.... and objective standards should not be applied to criticize one societal code more than another.
In his collection of almost scandalous stories, Boccaccio portrays 14th century society. Perhaps he is a little overboard in his descriptions, but this gives the

readers an opportunity to distance themselves from the

Comparison Of Two Paintings
611 Words - 3 Pages.... men wear suggest to me that this took place at a time before the Somnambulist Mall Walking. From the style of the outfit the men wear, they seem ancient but half-modernized. The men wear those bucket hats that remind me of Charlie Chaplin's time.
The main similarity that I find in these two paintings is the floating bodies in the sky. Both give a disturbing feeling when I look at them. Perhaps because floating bodies remind me of ghosts and spirits. However, in Somnambulist Mall Walking, there are women and men, whereas in Golconda only men are involved in the painting, the same men with the same outfits repeated over and over again.
The obvious difference in these two p ....
