When Finny decides to skip dinner and wrestle instead, Gene becomes confused, but goes along with his every word, and action. Later on in the book, after the accident, when Gene looks at himself in the mirror while wearing Finny’s clothes, on page 54, it says “… it was no remote aristocrat I had become, no character out of daydreams. I was Phineas, Phineas to life. … standing there (it seemed) that I would never stumble through the confusions of my own character again.” That meant ....

The boar attacked and fought back aggressively. Bercilak faced it one on one and killed it. In Gawain's bedroom, Bercilak's wife made another pass at him. This time she was more aggressive. Jack Sommersby is much like Elizabeth Proctor because they both have their reasons to believe their spouse is cheating on them, but don’t have the concrete evidence to confront their spouse. And the relationship between the two couples can be described in the same way; they are very uncomfortable around each other. Orin is similar to Abigail Williams because they are the ones that are having the affair with either Laurel or John. Both of them also try very desperately, with no success, to maintain their relationship with the person ....

A resistance to taking action then results in one's becoming a rhinoceros. Jean illustrates this in the beginning of Act 2, scene 2, when we see Jean and Berenger bickering. This adds a great deal of drama to the situation, something that is necessary in a film such as "Devil's Advocate". One of the observations I made about the film was that Kevin's legal talents are the Devil's instruments of choice. It is his legal practices that destroy his wife and eventually lead to her horrifying death. An important quote which I recall was when Milton (Al Pacino) says, "nobody on earth could do his bidding better than a well trained band of attorneys".
