out engineering just wasn't what I was meant to do.
Some people would say that I made a bad decision, but I would rather
say that I made an unwise decision. Computer engineering (the major that I
choose first semester) was a lot more than I expected. I ended up failing
Physics, Calculus and Chemistry! In addition to that, I was subject to
separation from < > college. Well, now a decision really had to be made; it
was time for me to make a choice.
My parents told me to think about other colleges and to think about
other things to do instead of college, but I knew that < > was right for me.

Personal Writing: My Holiday
866 Words - 4 Pages.... there for three weeks and from there we went to a place called Pune, which is also in India. My father's friends also accompanied us on the holiday. We went to Pune by train and it took us about five hours to get there. I had not been feeling well and therefore, I was very restless during the train journey. Even then, I was very excited as it was my first train journey. I kept on looking out of the window and let out loud shrieks every time I saw a monkey in the trees. The scenery was beautiful as the train passed between two mountains. There were trees on either side and I kept on running from one side of the train to another to count the number of monkeys that I could spot ....

Creative Writing: My Summer Off
1528 Words - 6 Pages.... eight tomorrow morning. Get some practice, get some sleep, see you there.”
I don't know what drew me to the course but I can remember my parents
telling me they felt I should go to summer school. I was opposed to the concept
of summer school right up to the moment I was issued the dictum “go to school or
get a job”, at which point I became the world's greatest advocate of off-season
learning. Besides, I was only fifteen and the workplace just wasn't ready for
me. So I thumbed through the course book, singing a chorus of no's until I
arrived on the Debate and Public Speaking page. There resided a large
photograph of a boy confidently standing behind an ornate po ....

Tomato Fishing
289 Words - 2 Pages.... us seven. We planted the tomatoes in the garden, with rows of
sunflowers, beans and beets, four eggplants, five bell peppers, several
herbs and a peach tree named Packwood (named after creeping under my skirt
once too often). Everything was going along nicely. Then we went on
vacation....
We came back to find a sea of green. Tomatoes covered everything. We
had to transplant two of the eggplants, and we lost the one with the red
and white stripes. Most of the herbs had disappeared. The peppers and
Packwood were ok, but we hadn't planted any tomatoes in that box. But the
tomatoes in the next box over were trying to invade it. Tomatoes overflowed
everywhere.

Creative Writing: The Substitute
465 Words - 2 Pages.... A friend and I were
curious of her queer behavior and hid in the closet. For the first few
seconds all seemed normal and then a minute passed. The silence was broken
by her bolting out of her chair and locking all the doors and pulling all
the curtains. Seating herself back into her seat she began rummaging
through the duffel bag. She stopped and seemed to hesitate for a second
slowly scanning the room as if to check that she was alone. She went back
to her foraging and before long she had pulled from the bag a small black
box. Engraved with the letters P, O, and another letter that I could make
out were on the cover of the box. The final detail that I noticed about the
box ....

The Nasty Restroom
479 Words - 2 Pages.... slimed in filth. A roach scampered out from under the seat and stared at me blankly for a second, only to scurry back to its hiding place. I quickly relieved myself and tiptoed to the sink.
While cleansing my hands, the very sight of the sink made me wonder if using it would clean my hands or only contaminate them more. Globs of traveler’s toothpaste stuck to the cold water handle were teeming with ants, and clumps of hair gripped tightly to the drain. After thoroughly washing my hands under the hot water, I blindly grabbed for a paper towel from the mold covered dispenser. In a rush, I attempted to dry my hands over the trash can when my ring slipped off my finger an ....
