My Trip On The Ganges River
419 Words - 2 Pages

.... that the touch of its water will cure some diseases. I was shocked to find out that people even go to that river to die in hope that they will go to paradise. I should point out that the river is only sacred to Hindus. It was interesting to find out that each year, thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit such holy cities as Benares and Allahabad along the banks of the Ganges. They go there just to bathe in the river and to take home some of its water. The Ganges River is so important to the Indians that they call it "Ganga Mata" or Mother Ganges. It is also the greatest waterway in India and one of the largest in the world. Temples line the riverbank, and stairways, called ghat ....

My Vision Of Tomorrow
621 Words - 3 Pages

.... that many new possibilities will arise. Most likely, we will enjoy interplanetary space travel frequently in the future and we may even develop communities on other planets, such as mars, or perhaps on the moon. Numerous scientists and writers have already also predicted this. Life will also be made much, much easier in the future for humans by robots, computers, and other automatons. Many simple tasks done today by humans such as cooking, cleaning, and repairing household items will be done by these machines much more quickly and efficiently and with less pollution. Almost all of the current manual labor jobs, especially in the United States, will become obsolete and rob ....

.... win. As usually my father won, and that day was when he first taught me how to ski. He showed me how to snow- plow down a hill, that is your first move you learn upon skiing, then he so ever willingly took me to the bunny hill and watched intently as if he remembers when he was that age and how strange and awkward he felt with those clumsy skis and big boots. That day was so hot but yet the snow remained and kept falling from the ski. Then my father showed me the basic techniques he acquired while learning how to ski, you see there is no standard way to ski everyone has to find their own style of skiing or snowboarding . As you can find out this sport is not something you d ....

Don't Just Look In Its Eyes - A Creative Story
890 Words - 4 Pages

.... He strode off into the sea of the snow. Is there a moment when the line between the hunter and the hunted snaps taut? That moment when I realize I've got him and he realizes he's dead? YES! First there's the dance, the slow teasing chase, the furtive glances, the glimpses of your prey, and his wild frantic glances back. And then the tug of war, of spirits, of wills, of endurance. The wire of tension draws tight. Like and umbilical cord, the hunter has bonded with his prey, forever, bonded by the life and death chase. The fuse of life burns shorter, bringing the hunter closer, close, and then the final intimacy of the kill! Does the dumb ....

Personal Essay On Hamlet
567 Words - 3 Pages

.... instance, I should go to a party or to the bars, or stay home and concentrate on the massive amounts of homework that have piled up. It is at times like these when Mr. Anderson's words of advice float though my head. The one I hear Mr. Anderson saying most often in the back of my mind is one that, until now, I always thought he created. I say this because all of the other morals were obvious ones that, if I had not already heard, I eventually came to hear quite often. Until I actually went through the list of quotes at the back of the play Hamlet, I automatically assumed that Mr. Anderson was a genius. For I am taling about the line, "brevity is the soul of wit," in which P ....

Creative Writing: Unexpected Horizons
1029 Words - 4 Pages

.... cirrus clouds, but nothing worth paying attention to, and above that, the fish were supposedly hitting offshore. All-in-all, the long awaited perfect fishing day had come, at least in our minds it had. In the meantime, my dad backed the boat into the salty murky water as I got the boat ready for our day long journey. I set the navigation system to a favorite fishing spot of ours which was about twenty-five miles out called the Pelican Flats. We headed out on the gently, quiet, rolling blue monster's back as our twenty-two foot vessel handled the one to two foot ocean swells with sheer ease. Finally, after an hour long haul, and fifteen fishing minutes later, we ran in ....

.... turn to order. You order the coke and it’s in your hand all ready to be drank and the lady say’s $1.75 please. So you reach into your pocket and find out that you only have a dollar. The lady figures that you don’t have enough money and takes the coke away from you. You return to your seat in the lounge again still very thirsty. One time I went out with my cousin to a Chinese restaurant for some dinner. The place was packed with people, so we had to wait for a seat. After about ten minutes the waiter called my name and directed us to our seat. We opened up the menu and our eyes just focused on the prices, everything was around fourteen to twenty dollars. My cousin ch ....

Just Another Saturday Night?
829 Words - 4 Pages

.... he dropped his beer. I gave him a hug and asked how he was. He then took me out the back, past the roaring barbecue, to meet the rest of the crew. Tom was sitting on a chair with another blonde chick sprawled across his lap. I didn’t quite know what it was about him, but every party he had a different one, without fail. I watched as Andrew skillfully skated the mini-ramp. He rode with a smooth style. I watched his arms, spread out, as he balanced. I followed with my eye the cigarette in his right hand as it glowed, spearing through the night. I ran up the ramp and crouched down next to Matt, Eddie, Gavin and Jared. They all yelled my name as Matt tackled me to the floor ....
