Symbolistic Roleplaying
1084 Words - 4 Pages.... of some of its readers and audiences.
This play is led by the Athenian leader, Lysistrata. She is in some ways quite liberal, but I think that the identification of these liberal traits are difficult to distinguish. Some of Lysistrata's liberal aspects are ideas such as feminine politics, justice, recognition, and determination. For example, Lysistrata is a woman who is always determined to get her way. She feels that victory is not just important in the definition of winning an outcome, but that victory should be the primary priority. Her determination to win her battle against the Greek men will not be judged or questioned. this liberal trait is an ou ....

The Setting In "A Doll's House"
162 Words - 1 Pages.... two people's marriage was ended because of society.
The play takes place in Europe in the nineteenth-century. During this
time women were discriminated. against. This simple fact affects the whole
play's outcome. A young woman by the name of Nora is under the control of
her husband. He feels that he must rule her for he is the head of the
family. He would place small stipulations on her such as not being able
to eat macaroons. When she would make mistakes, he would refer to her by
some little name like, "Lark" or "Squirrel."
All of these things mentioned ar due to the setting. This caused Nora

Review Of Oedipus
827 Words - 4 Pages.... starts blaming it on people. The first person he blames the death on is a highwayman. Oedipus is very proud of himself in the beginning of the play. He thinks that he can’t get in trouble or nothing could possibly happen because he was the King of Thebes. The people of Thebes looked up to King Oedipus, everyone wanted to be like him.
As the play moves into scene one, already you can see Oedipus changing. We have to remember though that this play was only a day long so he faces all of these challenges in just one day. It seems like every time King Liaos death is brought up, Oedipus always blames it on someone. Oedipus then tells everyone that the person who killed King ....

MacBeth
817 Words - 3 Pages.... His fatal flaw
was that he was according to Ross, "a disloyal traitor". The thane of
Cawdor was greedy, and wanted the throne of England for himself, and as a
result was murdered. But his murder wasn't really disheartening, because
the Thane of Cawdor, deserved his fate. He was leading a battle, in which
many lost their lives, for the sake of greed, and deserved to die because
of his flaw. Duncan was the King of England, and was murdered by MacBeth.
He was murdered, because in order for MacBeth to fulfill his plan and
become king, Duncan would have to die. Duncan's fatal flaw was that he was
too trusting. For example, he thought that none of his friends could

Romeo And Juliet: Chance And Its Role
713 Words - 3 Pages.... believe that if there is a car around that corner,
then it was fated to happen and they would still die if they were going the
speed limit. I believe that Romeo & Juliet dug there own holes with bad
decisions.
Chance plays a major part in the story. Everything starts in the
very beginning when Montegue and Capulet servants just happen to cross
paths in a public place. This is a chance meeting. Coincidence cannot be
involved now because it is too early in the story. Also by chance, the
servants are talking of their hatred of the other family and there
unwillingness to bear insults. The opening line of the play is, "Gregory,
on my word, we'll not carry coals. "(pg.6)" M ....

Intensional Or Accidentall? Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet And Much Ado About Nothing!
847 Words - 4 Pages.... good plans to keep love
together.
In both plays, the masque functions as a dramatic device which initiates
the love plot. It occurs in a social gathering, but not without the help of
costumes. If it were not for costumes the result of love might have been
drastically different. How was the masque used to get lovers together? In the
case of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo hears about the masque and decides to go,
thinking that he might be able to get away with this scheme. Upon entering he
sees Juliet and right away, he knows it is love. If he had not worn the costume,
the hosts might have ejected him from the party and he might not have met
Juliet. Much Ado About Nothing has a sim ....

reasons many suitors wooed her. Kate was presented to be much more intelligent
and witty than Bianca, but, ironically, she could not compete with Bianca
because of these witty comebacks and caustic remarks she made (Dash 830). All
of the men who desired Bianca needed somebody to marry Kate, as it was customary
for the older daughter to be married before the young one. Finally, Petruchio
came along to court Kate, saying he wanted to marry wealthily in Padua. It
appeared, though, as if Petruchio was the kind of man who needed an opposition
in life. The shrewish Kate, who was known to have a sharp tongue, very

Macebth: Power Of Knowledge
1405 Words - 6 Pages.... and loyal soldier. It is up to the audience to decide how much he is influenced by the witches' prophecies, the prodding of his wife, and his own ambition, therefore this will decide if Macbeth is a tragic hero the audience can show emotion towards.
The power from knowledge causes discomfort. As often been said, ignorance is bliss. After Macbeth is promised the throne, Banquo asks why Macbeth is less than ecstatic. "Good sir, why do you start, and seem to fear / Things that do sound so fair?" (Act I, Sciii, L. 54-55) Macbeth's new knowledge makes him uncomfortable, as he realizes the implications. His first thoughts considering murdering Duncan appear, and he is s ....
