“I Had Been Hungry, All The Years”
Beginning of Paper
discusses the differences between dreams and reality. Emily Dickinson, the writer, does this by using symbolism and other language throughout the poem. It forms an effective picture despite what the reader chooses as the “Curious Wine”.
In the first stanza Dickinson set the con .... Middle of Paper .... money. Wine is also a drink of richer people, who would (in most cases) have more money then her. Also because wine is curious, in flavor as well as in its bubbly ways, as money is to those that do not have it.
In the second stanza it seems she speaks of what she was thinking as she touched the “Curious Wine” “’Twas this on Tables I had seen” tells of how she had seen wealth often, so her hunger was not for the unknown but the inexperienced. “Windows” tells of how she knew the wealth.
