The effect of this is to immediately evoke within the viewer, the idea that Shawshank exists to contain individuals from the outside world, to torment them with the beauty of nature, yet, force them to exist in a world of ugliness and hatred. Macbeth returns home and he and his wife must play host to the King. Lady Macbeth begins to contemplate what "impedes thee from the golden round" (I, v). Soon Gilgamesh starts to hear rumors of a wild man who lives with animals; Gilgamesh sends out a priest to go civilize him, the priest shows the wild man named Enkidu the ways of civilization by sleeping with him. ....

Their parents were killed in an auto wreck that left Pony in trust of his brothers and fellow gang members. After that, a long chain of violent and dramatic events ensues and puts the boys in the most dreadful situation of their lives. The characters in this book are fairly realistic and believable.
